Stock & Mutual Fund Gifts

See Yourself Reflected in Our Future

When you donate your assets to DU, you see your ambitions and goals reflected in the future of our facilities, research and programming. Your gift has real, far-reaching impact that advances the causes you truly care about. Past donors have supported:

We work to make the process of supporting DU as simple as possible. If you have questions regarding stocks held with a broker, mutual funds or stocks held in certificate form, we're here to help you make a meaningful impact.

Stock and Mutual Fund Transfers

Please contact us at giftinfo@du.edu or 303-871-2311 before requesting the transfer with your broker so that we can assist with acceptance of the transfer.

To expedite the process and ensure securities transfers are completed properly, email us at giftinfo@du.edu to let us know a securities transfer is forthcoming. Copy any associated DU staff with whom you are working to make this contribution.

Include the following in your message:

  • The quantity and name of the security or mutual fund (and the ticker symbol if known)
  • When the donation is to be expected
  • What designation the monies should be placed in upon receipt
  • Any special handling instructions or details

Although DU and our broker will do everything we can to facilitate the transfer of mutual funds, it can take several days to complete the transfer and therefore our valuation of the contribution.

Kirkpatrick Gift Funds Early Literacy Efforts

Taylor Kirkpatrick (International MBA ‘04) believes that books are for everyone. He also believes that access to books and early literacy programs can contribute to children’s — and their families’ — overall well-being. Those beliefs were the driving force behind Kirkpatrick’s recent $500,000 gift, which builds on his previous philanthropy, to bolster DU’s efforts to reach children and families in the community with high-quality, evidence-based early literacy programming and resources.
